This guide is based on official documentation from TPCi and a guide compiled by Professors Wilson Choong, Samuel Teoh and Ng Soon Aik.
| Step 1: Press the X button and open the VS menu. |  |
| Step 2: Select Live Competition. |  |
| Step 3: Select Participate in a Live Competition. |  |
| Step 4: Select Receive a Digital Player ID. (if you are using LAN Mode, hold the L button and R button and then press the left stick in prior to selecting) |  |
| Step 5: Wait while your Nintendo Switch finds and receives the competition information from the TO. This may take some time. |  |
| Step 6: Once the information is found, select Yes to register your Battle Team. |  |
| Step 7: Select your Battle Team by pressing the A button. If you have not created your Battle Team, press the X button to register one. (If you have created your Battle Team, skip to Step 10.) |  |
| Step 8: Select the Pokรฉmon you would like in your Battle Team and transfer them to the Battle Team. Once all Pokรฉmon are in your Battle Team, press the B button to return to the selection screen. |  |
| Step 9: Press the A button to choose your Battle Team. |  |
| Step 10: Select Yes to confirm your Battle Team. |  |
| Step 11: You’re all set for the competition! When the TO says to start, select Battle to start a game. (if you are using LAN Mode, hold the L button and R button and then press the left stick in prior to selecting) |  |
| Step 12: Enter the Match ID per instructions from the TO when the battle begins. |  |
